The range of up to 61 cm enables convenient scanning of even larger shopping baskets without leaving the checkout area - a clear advantage in hectic retail environments. The flexible power supply is particularly innovative: The DS8178 can be operated either with a PowerPrecision+ rechargeable battery - for up to 65,000 scans per charge - or with the PowerCap capacitor, which can be recharged in just 35 seconds for up to 100 scans.
