The Zebra ZD421-HC is a 4-inch desktop printer specially developed for use in the healthcare sector, which impresses with its hygienic design, intelligent operation and outstanding performance. Whether patient wristbands, sample labels or infusion bags - this printer supports smooth and safe workflows in hospitals, surgeries and laboratories.
Its housing is UV and disinfectant resistant, the sealed button surface enables easy cleaning and prevents the spread of germs. The medically certified power supply unit (IEC 60601-1) guarantees standard-compliant operation in sensitive medical areas.
Available as a direct thermal or thermal transfer model - including a version with an innovative ribbon cassette - the ZD421-HC covers a wide range of printing requirements. The integrated, movable sensor ensures flexible media compatibility. The printer can optionally be equipped with a rechargeable battery - ideal for mobile use on care trolleys or on ward rounds.

Thanks to its modern architecture, the ZD421-HC offers up to 30% more performance than its predecessor, the ZD420, and over 700% more than models in the GK series. The printer can be easily integrated into any IT infrastructure via USB, USB host or optional Ethernet, serial interface, WLAN (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 4.1 - also via NFC or Bluetooth Low Energy with the Zebra setup app.
A real highlight is the 3-button user interface with 5 LED symbols, which enables simple error diagnostics at a glance. The ribbon cassette (optional) contains a chip that automatically informs the user of upcoming ribbon changes - ideal for time-sensitive processes in everyday clinical practice.
The Print DNA software suite ensures maximum print security, remote management, configuration protection and seamless integration into managed print services. PrintSecure protects networks, prevents unauthorized access and identifies vulnerabilities.
Numerous accessories and upgrade options such as label dispenser, cutter, battery or mobile carrying case round off the range of functions. Supported by Zebra OneCare™ service contracts, the ZD421-HC remains ready for long-term use - reliably, securely and hygienically.
